Welcome to Bullets #24! Sit back, relax, and dive into the latest edition of the series. You can also catch up on the previous edition bullets/23.

  • I’ll start with the fact that “24” is my favorite number!

  • Finished the renovation of the bathroom, I’m super happy that we have one more room with furniture built by myself! Everything works, even the automation of the various lights and a fan seems to function perfectly! Shelly + Home Assistant ftw!

  • Also! My home office setup has changed! Put some tiles on the floor, decorated one wall with felt, added some lighting, lost the battle with cable management under the desk but overall, it’s a nice update, definitely worth upgrading the Workspace entry! As always, soon!

  • Note to self: what’s the point of writing about “in progress” stuff and announcing some future updates instead of actually finishing them first and then sharing the results?

  • In recent weeks I had a little bit more time to spend on side projects, and it turned out that Claude Pro was not enough and I’ve bought ChatGPT Plus to help me out. I went all in with AI in my side projects, because I prefer to make some progress during the limited time I have rather than struggling with the tasks by keeping the code human-only.

  • Cycling in one sentence (since my last update): sad about Pogi’s accident, happy about Kasia’s silver medal and mind-blown by the difference between 1st and 2nd place in European Championships, see below:

  • After reading almost 30 books from the Reacher universe, I finally watched the TV series and it doesn’t disappoint. I think Alan Ritchson portrays Jack Reacher perfectly.

  • You know that I love blue things, and yesterday I spotted that beautiful blue coffee machine! It looks amazing, unfortunately it costs way more than my current V60 drip setup. Maybe one day, with yet another office makeover!

  • I’m thinking about email system improvements, I currently use a combination of Fastmail & Gmail, for both private and business purposes. I’m struggling with getting everything right for myself and the family as well. I’d like to have a nice domain for everyone (unfortunately not an easy part when you have the most common surname in Poland), keep things out of Google, but also don’t add unnecessary complexity, when no one cares about it. That’s a similar situation with AI - I can write the code myself and do everything by the book, but it rarely makes sense to do so and everyone else looks at me like a weirdo. Not all the fights are worth it. Maybe I’m simply too old for this.

  • I’ll end this edition with a YT video with a set from Sunrise Festival 2026 - yet another nostalgia trip:

Happy Autumn!
